VERONICA JIMENEZ is a Brooklyn-born, Puerto Rican wife, mother of five and grandmother. Married thirty two years to a retired NYPD police officer, she has called Pennsylvania home for over ten years.

Veronica was the victim of significant physical, sexual and emotional abuse at a very young age. Coming from a background of poverty, incest, violence, alcohol and drug addiction; she learned self hatred early. A caregiver she lived with, practiced the witchcraft of Santeria. There were three suicides in her family; her great grandmother, father and younger brother. She also experienced three significant head injuries in a short period of time; one resulting in a concussion and hospitalization.

At eleven years old, she received Christ through the inner city kids ministry of Metro World Child. She loved God “At a distance”; fearing if He saw her up close, she’d be rejected. She began self-harming as a teen and was sent to a home for wayward girls. Released at sixteen, she was more angry and suicidal than ever. Two surgeries revealed she couldn’t have children, which at the time was a relief; due to her own fear of abuse.

She was first hospitalized for cutting at nineteen. She miraculously conceived and at age twenty one, got married. Although she loved her husband, children and church family, further signs of mental illness were evident. She was diagnosed with borderline personality and bipolar disorders. After several hospitalizations and suicide attempts, her marriage was shattered, her relationships torn and her soul badly infected with shame. She cried out God one last time before a planned suicide and He heard her.

She got healed in 2012, through the ministry of a spirit filled lay counselor, who recognized a teaching gift. By 2014, she was off all psychiatric medication. She began teaching small groups, then coaching one on one.

Her passion to see others healed grew as she taught at churches, prison, conferences and retreats. She began compiling scriptural, holistic teachings and exercises for mental health and created her own curriculum called Sound Mind Awareness. Her greatest desire is to equip the body of Christ with biblical tools to bring thoughts captive, become good stewards of emotions and learn the art of Godly sorrow. She’s a firm believer that every believer has the mind of Christ and by applying the word, they can learn to walk in power, love and a sound mind. Veronica mentors her clients how to overcome anxiety, depression, disorders, heal from trauma, succeed in relationships and become effective doers of the word. She counsels teens, adults and couples from all walks of life.
